How We Raise Our Herd

Raising bulls that thrive in real-world conditions and deliver long-term value to commercial cattlemen is at the heart of what we do. Our approach is built on hard-earned experience, strict standards, and a deep respect for the land and livestock.

Green Pasture full of Red Angus Cows and Bulls

Our herd is raised for health, longevity, and adaptability, but our true focus is on our customers. We listen to the needs of commercial ranchers and tailor our breeding, management, and selection practices to deliver cattle that perform in real-world conditions. Every decision is made with your operation in mind—ensuring our bulls and females provide lasting value, reliable performance, and support for your long-term success.

We believe that building strong relationships with our customers is just as important as building strong cattle. From the first conversation to ongoing support after your purchase, we are committed to understanding your goals and helping you achieve them. We welcome feedback, answer questions honestly, and stand behind every animal we sell. Our team is always available to discuss genetics, management strategies, and ways to improve your herd's productivity.

Our Guiding Principles

Built to Last, Not Just to Sell

We raise bulls that are structurally sound, feed-efficient, and bred for longevity. Bulls are developed slowly on a low mega-Calorie TMR ration, starting at 44 mega-Cal at weaning and peaking at 50 before tapering down before delivery. This method ensures they're durable and ready to work, not just look good on sale day.

Real-World Development

Our bulls are weaned in October and grown out until our annual sale in May. Developed in a long lot with feed at one end and water at the other, they stay active and mimic commercial ranch conditions. Their average daily gain is measured from weaning to yearling weight for honest performance data.

Strict Cow Standards

Great bulls come from great cows. We cull hard for feet, udders, and fleshing ability. Every cow is teat and udder scored, and only those meeting our standards remain. Bulls are never sold out of cows with poor structure or fertility.

Our purebred cows run at the same stocking rate as our commercial herd, ensuring honest and meaningful data.

Proven Genetics, Not Hype

We use artificial insemination and embryo transfer, but only with genetics that have proven themselves. Sires must be at least five years old, so we know how their daughters perform. This narrows our selection to bulls that have stood the test of time.
